Welcome to Limberlost Exotics also known as Greiner’s Golden Doxies nestled in Mulliken Michigan. We are a small breeder of true English Cream dachshunds. This site was published to share years of experience and information that I have obtained in the fields of horticulture, birds, dogs, and insects. As a child I grew up on a large farm in south eastern Michigan. During my time on the farm I learned to take care of many types of livestock, poultry and other fantastic and unusual exotics. This is were my passion for all things living and beautiful developed. My mother was an avid gardener and cook, I learned a lot from her.
My pursuit in a horticulture degree at Michigan State University allowed me to expand on much of what I already knew growing and working on the farm. I also got to experience growing thousands of rare and exotic plants from around the world having worked in the MSU Botany collection, and through my personal gardening experiences. I have traveled extensively to photograph and observe plants in their native habitats as well as in collections and museums.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. We actively used them on the farm and I spend a lot of time training and working with them. With my experience in genetics and my love for English Cream Dachshunds I decided to breed and promote this often confused breed. English Cream Dachshunds are truly a special breed not only in looks but certainly in temperament and personality. English Cream Dachshunds are great with children especially when raised from a puppy around them. Much to the despair of many dog breeds careless breeding and ignorance has polluted many English Cream dachshund pedigrees. I hope to produce dogs that are healthy and have pedigrees brimming with dogs of high quality and complementing characteristics.
My parents taught me the valuable lesson of developing a long term plan for a project and taking the necessary steps to insure its success. I have applied this logic to anything that I have invested time into. I strive not only to produce beautiful combinations, but to insure that they meet the standards and functions intended by its original developers. I am by no means an expert on any given field, however I pursue perfection and knowledge over time and experiences.
